Refund Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
Short version: if the Service isn't right for you, write to us within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it in full. No form to fill in, no reason required.
1. The 14-day guarantee
Every payment — your first subscription charge and every renewal — carries a 14-day refund window. Email hello@iwroteit.org from the address on the account and say you want a refund. We do not ask you to justify it and we do not run a retention script at you.
2. Beyond 14 days
After 14 days we do not refund the current period by default, but you can cancel at any time and you will not be charged again. Your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
There is one exception, and we apply it generously: if the Service failed on our side — a prolonged outage, a bug that lost or corrupted your records, or a charge you did not authorise — tell us and we will refund the affected period regardless of how long ago it was.
3. Accidental renewals
If a subscription renewed and you had genuinely stopped using the Service, tell us. If the account shows no meaningful activity since the renewal, we refund it. We would rather return the money than keep a charge someone did not intend.
4. How to cancel
Cancel from your account settings, or email hello@iwroteit.org and we will do it for you. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not by itself trigger a refund of a payment already made, so if you also want a refund within the 14-day window, say so in the same message.
You can export your records before your access ends, and we recommend doing so.
5. How refunds are processed
Our merchant of record is Paddle.com Market Ltd. Refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method. Paddle also handles billing enquiries directly and can be contacted at paddle.net.
We approve refund requests within two business days. The money typically appears within 3–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer — that part is outside our control.
6. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. This policy is written to meet or exceed that right, and nothing here limits it.
7. Abuse
We reserve the right to decline a refund where an account shows a pattern of repeated subscribe-refund cycles, or where the Service has been used in breach of our Terms of Service. This is a narrow exception for bad-faith use, not a way to avoid honouring the guarantee.
